Novabow construction

The base of the Novabow is made from melamine birch plywood, a combination that is both robust, strong and easy to clean. The toe plate mechanism is made from aluminium and the 3  resistance bands, of varying strengths, are made from and elasticated cloth material which is machine washable.

How the novabow is constructed

The Novabow System: 1 device, 2 Revolutionary Exercise Functions

What you get when you buy a novabow

So what do you get if you purchases a novabow system ?

The novabow is primarily  made up of a hard wearing, laminated, wooden base, a toe plate and slider made from aluminum, a  strong but lightweight metal, and 3 washable resistance bands of varying strengths that can be used singly or in combination to give a range of resistances.

As detailed elsewhere, the novabow is used for both strengthening and stretching (mobilizing) the foot and it easily transitions from one function to the other. It's a very easy tool to use and can be practiced whilst sitting down at the office or even whilst watch TV.

The resistance bands are made of a long lasting combination of latex and cloth  but may not be suitable for use  in those with a latex allergy

Compact and easy to transport

Easy to transport the novabow

The novabow takes up less space than a pair of shoes and can be used at the gym, at home, or in the office.

Adjusting the novabow for size and left or right feet
Adjusting the novabow for foot size and left or right

A simple finger screw allows the aluminium slider unit to be moved on the base ans angled for left or right feet.

Simply loosen the screw to allow movement ,position the slider and toe plate in the best postion and angle for your size and shape of foot ,select a resistance level and start exercising .

When stretching the foot using the cord provided the resistance band across the top of the foot is always  first removed, to avoid overstretching the plantar fascia, and then the cord is pulled upon stretching the toes and mobilizing the foot.

Why does the novabow strengthen the intrinsics when other exercises fail ?

The intrinsic muscles of the foot are vital for foot function and balance and weakness in these muscles can cause all sorts of problems such as knee pain, plantar fasciitis, balance problems and foot deformity.

Research has shown that toe curling exercises are poor when it comes to methods of strengthening the intrinsics especially in the older population.

Instead research indicates that the best method of strengthening the intrinsic foot muscles involves keeping the toes straight and moving them around the foot "knuckle" joints, and that is the exercises the novabow allows you to practice.

Adding a toe incline and resistance across the top of the foot greatly boosts the exercise effectiveness.
